After finishing the job from the original game, Carrie the caregiver has returned and now she has to take care of a few toddlers. There are 50 levels in this game, so you will be joining Carry in her daycare for quite a few hours before you reach the last stage. Carrie the Care Giver 2 is divided into 5 stages: painting, lunch, shapes, writing, and baking. What you need to do if you want to finish a level is help the toddlers complete their tasks as fast as you can. If you don't pay attention to one of the kids, he will most likely get depressed and start crying.
Each round starts with a few toddlers walking into the daycare. It is your job to drag them to their appropriate location and attend to their needs. This preschool game is all about clicking on the right items, so getting a paintbrush and bringing it to the right toddler is very easy. The first problem will appear when you have to deal with four or more toddlers at the same time. Luckily, the game comes with a few neat features that will make your life easier. First off, Carrie can carry one item in each of her hands. If you see two toddlers in need of some type of tool, you can send Carrie to the tool table and collect both of the items at once. This will save you a lot of time during hectic rounds. Another useful feature is the mysterious food that randomly appears on the side of the screen. If you pick it up, Carrie will have more energy and you will complete tasks faster. You can also receive power-ups like roller-skates which will drastically increase your speed for a short period of time.
The game sounds easy enough so far, but once you get to know the toddlers, the situation gets a little bit complicated. Depending on the color of their hair, toddlers react in a different way. Blonde kids will wait for their tools without complaining, while dark haired children will start crying almost immediately. You will have to figure out how red hair kids react and there are quite a few types of personalities you will encounter along the way.
Besides looking after the children, you also have to keep an eye on the satisfaction level. If Carrie is happy with her job, she will receive a heart that you can offer to any toddler when he or she is very upset. It will make him happy in an instant and you won't have to worry about him for a while. This is one of the power-ups which will help you get through the more difficult stages.
Those who can't get used to the challenging nature of this preschool game can train for a while until they get the hang of it. The training feature is available before you start each new level and it can help you improve your time considerably. However, most people won't use it until they reach the second half of the game since some of the first levels are not that difficult.
Time management games are usually a race against the clock, but this is not the case here. You don't have a time limit, but you have to keep every child happy. This will be stressful at times, especially when you have kids waiting; they will start crying if you don't make room for them and the only way to do this is by waiting for another toddler to finish his job. The other thing you can do is sing for those who are waiting in line or you can offer them some type of toy that will keep them busy for a while.
Carrie the Care Giver 2 is an all-around great time management game. There are three aspects in which it excels: the graphics, the gameplay and the details. The graphics are very colorful and clear, so you always know what to pick up and where to put it back. Plus, the background sound is soothing and you can even hear the kids talking.
The gameplay is especially important because you need to be able to click on many different things rapidly and you can do this without any problems. Everything goes smoothly and you won't have problems in this department. The details make Carrie the Care Giver 2 a wonderful preschool game. You have to pick up the paintings and place them in the right location, you can pay attention to the toddlers who are waiting in line and there are many little things that you can focus on when playing the game. All of these details make each round different from the other and you won't lose your interested even when you're playing the training mode.
This is not one of those care games where you have to babysit some babies and change their diapers. You simply need to guide these toddlers and help them create a few paintings and go through a few other activities. The concept is fairly original and you will have your hands full in a matter of minutes. The learning curve is lean, but some of the levels are quite tricky, especially once you run across sensitive toddlers. Even so, Carrie the Care Giver 2 is a fun to play preschool game once you get used to the controls.
