Lalaloopsy is a DS game based on a popular toy namely the Lalaloopsy doll. Lalaloopsy will prove popular with little girls of all ages who love to play mini games. The game involves all the dolls in the series bringing them into the story in such a way that children will fall in love with them. Great marketing if you can get it but in reality there is no bold promotion just a really fun game that is very cute and endearing.

The game begins when you select which of the twelve dolls you want to play. They include Blossom Flowerpot and Dot Starlight to name just two. You then travel the globe meeting doll friends along with lots of demanding pets, its great fun. Each doll you meet needs help to find her lost pet or assistance feeding them so you help her to do this while playing mini games along the way.
The mini games are very creative as you design and create beautiful jewellery or sew fabrics including items like mittens or gloves plus baking and painting among other crafts will bring out the designer in you. Giving the dolls gifts also seals the deal in terms of friendship while keeping their pets happy will improve your chances of completing the game no end. You can feed them, clean them or generally spoil them to gain favour. Pets you will meet include dogs, cats, chickens or butterflies and funnily enough the whole range love biscuits, that you have of course baked yourself. Its very charming.
Lalaloopsy is educational too as children can create their own designs using colours and fabrics of their choice. Visually the game is a real treat with lovely locations having gorgeous flowers or rainbows and beautiful dolls, while there are hidden secrets such as giant stars for you to discover. You can keep a record of how you are doing in terms of befriending by using the friendship monitor available which is really useful. The accompanying music is very cute bringing a fun light hearted atmosphere throughout the game making it a more than pleasant experience.
Lalaloopsy is definitely a young children's game aimed at the under sevens. Its very cute and girly while as the game is set around the world of the Lalaloopsy dolls it will have little interest for most boys. Some parents may worry about the message this game sends out as in order to gain friendship you have to give the dolls gifts but in my opinion it is just a light hearted game with cute dolls as the centre piece no more no less. Lalaloopsy will give your child hours of creative fun while the game can be replayed time and again giving the player the opportunity to design alternative looks each time they play.
